With nearly 10 years of experience on the piano, Alex is trained in both classical and contemporary music. She started singing and writing her own songs 2 years ago, and regularly performs them in venues around Perth.<\/p>

As a music tutor, Alex customises her lessons to align with the aspirations and capabilities of each student, providing tailored instructions and feedback. Zalman is a well-rounded musician who has engaged in everything from live performance, songwriting, film score composition, sound design, studio recording and audiovisual events work. Discovering a passion for learning the keyboard at a young age, followed by electric and then acoustic guitar, he has since dedicated many years to learning music, including four years completing an Advanced Diploma of Music Performance and an Advanced Diploma of Sound Production.<\/p>

Zalman has also picked up a myriad of other fun instruments along the way, including ocarina, ukulele, cajon, djembe, kashaka, drums and bass guitar. He has always been very fond of instrumental music, especially from video games, Disney and other animated musicals.<\/p>

He has an eagerly curious spirit, openly welcomes the passions of others and is someone who loves to delve deep into learning so that he can then excitedly share that knowledge. Meet Kathryn, the Founding Director of WCMS and your dedicated piano mentor. With over 15 years of piano teaching experience and a versatile background that spans more than 25 years across multiple instruments, including piano, voice, guitar, drums, violin, and cello,
Kathryn brings a wealth of musical knowledge and passion to her role. Her unique journey has equipped her with the insight to create a learning environment that nurtures both the development of musical skills and the wellness aspects associated with music.

Alex Avery

(She/Her)

With nearly 10 years of experience on the piano, Alex is trained in both classical and contemporary music. She started singing and writing her own songs 2 years ago, and regularly performs them in venues around Perth.
She believes in fostering a supportive learning environment where students can explore their creativity and develop their unique musical voice.
As a music tutor, Alex customises her lessons to align with the aspirations and capabilities of each student, providing tailored instructions and feedback. Whether it's mastering a challenging classical piece or delving into songwriting, she encourages her students to unlock their musical potential.
Alex is has completed a certificate III in music performance and is currently studying a bachelor of music in contemporary vocals at WAAPA.
Zalman Schipp

Zalman is a well-rounded musician who has engaged in everything from live performance, songwriting, film score composition, sound design, studio recording and audiovisual events work. Discovering a passion for learning the keyboard at a young age, followed by electric and then acoustic guitar, he has since dedicated many years to learning music, including four years completing an Advanced Diploma of Music Performance and an Advanced Diploma of Sound Production.
Zalman has also picked up a myriad of other fun instruments along the way, including ocarina, ukulele, cajon, djembe, kashaka, drums and bass guitar. He has always been very fond of instrumental music, especially from video games, Disney and other animated musicals.
He has an eagerly curious spirit, openly welcomes the passions of others and is someone who loves to delve deep into learning so that he can then excitedly share that knowledge. He specialises in music theory, composition, rhythm, working with neurodivergence and understanding motivation.
Indigo Milne

Indigo is a spirited and easy-going singer who holds an Advanced Diploma in Music Performance. Her infectious energy and enthusiasm are evident in her approach to teaching, creating consistently inspiring, judgement-free, and engaging learning environments for her students.
Indigo has a special talent for working with absolute beginner pianists, dedicating herself to ensuring that every student feels safe, secure, and comfortable during each lesson.
Logan Platell

With an Advanced Diploma in Music, Logan brings years of experience teaching piano to young beginners, including extensive work with neurodiverse students. His multi-instrumentalist background ensures his piano students become well-rounded musicians. Logan is especially talented in teaching songwriting on the piano and helping pianists learn to play and sing simultaneously.

Our guided online enrolment process is easy! Enrol by yourself online by :

2. Choose your chosen instrument and lesson length
3. Choosing a Mentor & Lesson time that suits you

Instrumental lessons are available for 5 year olds to adults.

We welcome everyone, from absolute beginners to advanced musicians. Our curriculum is designed to meet each student at their current skill level and progress from there.

Each month follows the same general structure:

In months that extend to 5 weeks long, enjoy an additional private lesson on us.
The Muso Workshops are a dynamic series of hands-on sessions where students create, collaborate, and refine their musical skills—building toward a Music Video Competition in October!
The WCMS community will vote for the best performances, and the winners will take the stage at the End of Concert/Gala!

Each workshop is 60 minutes and will occur around the same time as your usual lesson in the last week of select months.

No. We offer month-to-month enrolment, providing flexibility and convenience. You are not locked into long-term commitments, and you can start at any time and cancel at any time. This allows you to tailor your lessons to your schedule and preferences
Lessons continue all year round to ensure continuous learning for all students.
If you would like to take time of during school holidays, simply cancel and reschedule those lessons for when it suits you.

Yes! In addition to our in-studio lessons at 16 Morris Pl Innaloo, you can opt to have your lessons in the comfort of your own home with either a mentor travelling to you each week or by tuning in via zoom each week.
